Carol is a published author and a chaplain. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science, a Certificate in Social Work, a Master’s Degree in Education, Graduate Certificate in Gerontology, and a Master of Arts Degree in Spiritual Formation.  Carol primarily focuses on Salem, Newberg and the surrounding areas. Elizabeth (Liz) Graves, Elder Care Advisor

Liz has been helping people through difficult times for over 20 years. Before joining the Choice team, she was a human resources manager and the first person that employees would contact with stressful issues such as health problems, family issues, elder care issues, work place issues and other problems that interfered with employees’ day-to-day work. Having to find elder care housing for several family members she discovered how challenging it is for family members to do it alone. She decided her next career would be to help people through this difficult time. Liz volunteers in her community and as a commission member for Elders in Action. She can be reached at 503-277-3558.

Libby Hinze, Elder Care Advisor

Libby has dedicated herself to improving the lives of our elders and the communities in which they reside for the past eight years. She has worked as a case manager and a patient advocate for a local health clinic where she excelled at delivering services to her patients and their families by listening to what their needs were, identifying what the common goal was, and then using her wealth of community contacts to find the most optimal answers. Libby has a personal interest in working with minorities, especially the LGBTQ community, and strives for equality to all. She is passionate about end of life care and has worked tirelessly on identifying hospice appropriateness in a timely manner. She volunteers her time by helping elders write their life stories and creating ethical wills. Currently Libby is completing her degree in Human Studies and Gerontology at Marylhurst University. She can be reached at 503-915-9832.

Molly McKain, Elder Care Advisor

Molly’s interest in the needs of our aging society began approximately ten years ago when she found her mother in need of alternative living arrangements. “It had come time for me to do all I could for her needs as she had done for me. I set out on a mission with absolutely no idea what I was doing.” Through the process she discovered a desire to bring her newly found tools into the professional arena of Assisted Living, Hospice Care, Adult Care Home Living and Residential Care Facility living. Through Outreach, Education and Administration, she found herself determined to contribute to the success of quality Elder Care. In addition to helping families find senior housing, Molly volunteers with a local hospice care agency. Molly helps people in Clark, Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington Counties. Molly can be reached at 503-853-5607.

Sandy Berg, Elder Care Assistant

Sandy has worked with seniors and people with disabilities for over 15 years. Originally with the United Way, she continued her service to the community as an office manager for Port City Development Center and then with another referral agency before coming on board with us. She is often the first person someone speaks with when calling our main line. Sandy has been a great resource for thousands of people and if she doesn’t know the answer to your question, she will be happy to look it up for you or give you a great place to start. Sandy can be reached at: 503-353-7870.
